Sinopsis:
Durante un vuelo experimental, Steve Austin, piloto de pruebas y astronauta, sufrió un terrible accidente que le hizo perder las dos piernas, un brazo y la visión del ojo derecho. Su amigo el doctor Rudy Wells trabajaba entonces en un proyecto secreto llamado Biónica (mezcla de BIOlogía y electrÓNICA), gracias al cual los miembros amputados fueron sustituidos por partes biónicas que le dieron a Steve una fuerza y una velocidad enormes además de una visión envidiable.
